28 week appointments

Keep in mind as you look at these pictures that ultrasound images during 3rd trimester can be kinda wacky and distorted looking. There are things like the umbilical cord, placenta, uterus, amniotic fluid, shadows and other stuff that can cause things to look strange. So, these pictures are not as "clear" as the ones we had at 12 weeks and 18 weeks, but we still love them anyway! We're kinda biased 'cause it's our kid and all... :o)

The ultrasound tech told us the umbilical cord was in front of his mouth. In this picture, he's starting to open his right eye. It was funny to watch on the screen...seemed like he was thinking, "Hey, what are y'all doing out there? I'm trying to sleep in here!"

Watching him open and close his eyes on screen was much better than how these pictures came out....it was amazing! Still has the umbilical cord in front of his mouth, and there are other mommy parts and shadows.

This was technically a 28 week ultrasound on Friday, Jan. 29th. I'll be 29 weeks tomorrow (Sunday, Jan. 31). I'm still measuring ahead, so you'll see 30 weeks on the ultrasound pictures. I talked to the Doctor at this place where we go for our high tech ultrasounds, and after asking me some questions he said that he thinks I'm probably just having another big baby...considering that Noelle was 9 lbs, 3 oz. Yikes! We'll see how that goes!

The main reason for this ultrasound was to check the position of my placenta, since it was slightly low at the last ultrasound. They said that everything looked fine and that it had "moved up and out of the way" as it should. Nice to know this is not a concern.

On Wednesday, Jan. 27th, I did my glucose screening test and got my Rhogam shot. Not my favorite appointment...but just part of the deal, right? I haven't heard back about the results of the glucose test yet. The OB/GYN I saw also talked with me about scheduling the c-section. When she asked me which doctor I wanted to request for this I chose Dr. Tosky as my first choice (he did my c-section with Noelle) and Dr. Buckley as my second choice. They should let me know soon when the c-section will be. I'll let you know! :o)

Kristin,

This is VERY exciting!! You can actually put the date on the calendar and KNOW the birth date!

We didn't have the 3D pictures for our kids so I find these photos just truly amazing!!

LOVE this stuff!!

Awwww Kristin, he's so handsome! Praise the Lord that so far, everything is going smoothly. :)

And don't worry if he's a big boy...he will have biggie Eli to hang out with, so he won't feel bad about having chubbie thighs. :)

The pics are pretty neat. I've never had a 3D before, so wonder what they must be like to watch your baby move all around.
